Hani Rashid was born in Cairo, Egypt, in 1958. He received his Bachelor in Architecture from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada in 1983 and his Master degree in Architecture from the Cranbrook Academy of Art, USA in 1985. Lise Anne Couture was born in Montreal, Canada in 1959. She received her Bachelor degree in Architecture from Carleton University in 1983 and her Master degree in Architecture from Yale University School of Architecture in 1986. In 1989 they formed Asymptote, a design architecture and research practice based in New York City. Completed works include the HydraPier in the Netherlands, (a+u 03:03) and the Carlos Miele store in New York (a+u 04:07). They are working on projects in USA, Europe and Asia. (a+u 10:02)
